Such an Amazing Show

Rarely do I sit and watch anything and experience a feeling of dread brought on because I know it’s going to end soon, but that is exactly how I feel when I watch Sons of Anarchy.  I don’t want the episode to end because I know when it does I’ll have to wait a whole week for it to start again.

This show is just getting better and better as the season goes on.  The performances are strong and the storyline is even stronger.  Even the smaller roles are cast and acted brilliantly.  I think it really says a lot about the show that the viewer cares so much about a group of thugs, gun runners, and murderers.

Speaking of shows about low-lifes on FX, during SOA last night I saw a preview for the upcoming season of Nip/Tuck.  This will be the 6th season of Nip/Tuck and I’ve watched every episode from the beginning (something I’m not all together proud of), which is why I will watch it again this season.  The first 2 seasons were great TV, and they’ve gone downhill since.  I still carry hope that this show will return to greatness, but I’m not holding my breath.

I do want to point out that one of the funniest shows on television starts again tonight on NBC, 30 Rock.  Aside from The Office, 30 Rock is the funniest ensemble cast on television.  I really hope this season it gets more viewership.  In it’s first two seasons the show was never consistently in the top 100 prime time shows.  I’m hoping that the fact that it and it’s stars cleaned up at the Emmy’s this year combined with Tiny Fey’s rising popularity from her SNL appearances as Sarah Palin will provide 30 Rock with the jump start it needs with viewers.
